To view MIRE, the spectator has a choice. Standing up, he or she can peer through the slits pierced in the walls of the scenographic device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lying on the floor, they can observe the piece reflected in a giant mirror placed above the dancers. MIRE resembles a bodily kaleidoscope that reproduces the optical illusions created by a zoetrope, a toy that uses persistence of vision to create a sensation of movement. She began her career as a dancer with the Ballet National de Nancy et Lorraine, before joining the Zurich Opera and the Slovenian National Ballet. In 2000, she began training in contemporary dance at Codarts, Rotterdam, where she began to develop her choreographic writing.<br \/>\nOn her return to Switzerland, she founded the Prototype Status company and is currently permanent resident and artistic director of Dansom\u00e8tre &#8211; espace de cr\u00e9ation et recherche chor\u00e9graphique in Vevey. Awarded the Prix Danse de la Fondation Vaudoise pour la Culture (2013), Jasmine Morand tours with Prototype Status in Europe, the United States and South America. The company&#8217;s repertoire includes over fifteen works, including the highly acclaimed creation MIRE (2016), a work for twelve dancers, selected at Swiss Dance Days 2017 and presented over fifty times, including at the Holland Dance Festival, on French national stages and at tanzhaus NRW D\u00fcsseldorf. The creation LUMEN (2020) won the Label + Romand &#8211; arts de la sc\u00e8ne competition and was awarded the Prix Suisse des Arts de la sc\u00e8ne as best dance creation 2020 by the Office F\u00e9d\u00e9ral de la Culture.<br \/>\nIn January 2023, LUMEN was presented at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la Ville in Paris.
