Create a cell-based future dish while exploring the science behind cellular agriculture<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine, you have the opportunity to grow your own food from cells of plants, fungi, and animals. What would your dish look like? Would it consist of cells from plants and familiar ingredients, or would you dare to venture into using extinct animal species, such as a T-rex or Dodo? And then, of course, the pivotal question: would you dare to take a bite of your own creation?\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Culinair Cellulair is an interactive installation that allows visitors to design a cell-based future dish. This involves creating food from cells of animals, plants or fungi, without relying on traditional farming methods. Through a convergence of art, science, and cellular agriculture, this is visually represented in the installation. Visitors are guided through the entire process of cellular agriculture in an accessible and visual manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using a touchscreen, visitors go through the cultivation process in four steps (cell source – design – cell growth – preparation) while creating a personalized dish based on the choices they make in each phase. They can experiment with different flavors, textures, shapes, and colors. Ultimately, the dish they create is displayed on a holographic screen.\r\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Chlo\u00e9 Rutzerveld is a designer and futurist based in the Netherlands. Driven by her fascination and curiosity for nature and science, she conducts artistic research that results in thought-provoking questions, design probes and possible future scenarios. Based on factual research, with a layer of speculation. With as central themes future of food and digestive systems.<\/p>\n

Organism Studios is an interactive media lab specializing in transforming fiction into reality through 3D animation, simulation and design. With two decades of experience, brothers Rik and Adriaan van Veldhuizen have adapted to digital evolution by mixing art and code to create interactive stories with meticulous attention to detail. The studio is always looking for new technologies to visualize future themes and topics to make them discussable<\/p>\n

Culinair Cellulair, is the second interactive installation that the two studios developed together. In 2019 they developed an interactive installation \u2018Future Food Formula\u2019 about high tech indoor growing systems and the influence of growth recipes on plant growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
