The project addresses ecological issues related to the importance of plants and water in Tunisia and, more broadly, in the Mediterranean region. It offers a sensory exploration of living things through microscopic images of plants\u2014jasmine, bougainvillea, olive trees\u2014as well as images of dried water samples from various sources (seawater, bottled water, rainwater). These elements, observed and captured under a microscope, reveal a world of shapes, textures, and colors that are usually invisible to the naked eye. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The installation highlights the process of collection and sampling by directly displaying the slides containing plant samples, as well as Petri dishes in which the water, once evaporated, reveals organic and mineral traces. These images are also projected as videos, extending the processes of observation and transformation of the materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is thus invited to enter a microscopic realm where life manifests itself in a different way, somewhere between abstraction and materiality. This approach aims to raise awareness of the fragility of these essential resources by offering a sensory experience that combines scientific observation with aesthetic appreciation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project also stems from the influence of the artist\u2019s family background; her parents are laboratory technicians in biochemistry and biology. This close exposure to scientific practices, observational protocols, and living matter has fostered a particular sensitivity to the processes of transformation and analysis of living organisms. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hichri Dorra<\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n\n \n \n

Hichri Dorra, born in Sousse, Tunisia, holds a Ph.D. in aesthetics and art practices. She currently teaches at the Institut Sup\u00e9rieur des Arts et M\u00e9tiers in Sidi Bouzid. An active visual artist since 2018, she has developed a practice at the intersection of research and creation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her approach combines theoretical reflection with artistic experimentation across various media. She is particularly interested in the digital image, which she explores as a material in a state of transformation. Through her installations, she creates immersive visual experiences using video projection, video mapping, and screens. Since 2022, her work has drawn connections between art and science, opening up new ways of perceiving the image. <\/span><\/p>\n
