The Biennial<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Created in 2018 and organized by CHRONIQUES – the Biennale des Imaginaires Num\u00e9riques is the highlight of digital arts and culture in the Southern region.
Exploring the visual arts, the sound arts and live performance, the Biennial focuses on the presence and use of digital and new technologies in art, invests the public space and gives a voice to national and international artists from different backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After attracting over 98,000 visitors to its third edition, this year’s Biennial of Digital Imaginaries will focus on the theme of Pleasure, and will be inaugurated on November 7, 8 and 9, 2024 in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon and the PACA region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three months of multidisciplinary programming for all the curious.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A grand opening weekend featuring international exhibition openings, shows and festivities in the cities of Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon, Arles and Istres at some fifteen partner venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An itinerary of original installations in downtown Aix-en-Provence, bringing together contemporary creation and architecture; tours and workshops for all: individual visitors or families, those familiar with or new to digital arts and culture; a closing weekend punctuated by live entertainment (concerts, shows, performances); a professional component with the first edition of the March\u00e9 des Imaginaries Num\u00e9riques (MIN) at the opening, in conjunction with the Entreprendre dans la Culture forum, as well as professional meetings at the close of the Biennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A biennial open to the international scene<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After welcoming Quebec, Taiwan and Belgium (Wallonia – Brussels – Flanders) for previous editions, the Biennial is delighted to welcome Lithuania as guest of honor for this fourth edition! This collaboration is part of the Saison de la Lituanie en France, organized by the Institut Fran\u00e7ais. The program will also showcase Dutch digital creation, with a Focus on the Netherlands. The biennial will feature over 80 artists and 14 original creations from the CHRONIQUES CR\u00c9ATIONS platform, which brings together some forty regional, national and international partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaped by the contrast and diversity of its dual identity in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, today CHRONIQUES is a major international arts event and a human-powered organisation that has pursued the same goal with obsessive conviction for over 20 years: to find new forms of aesthetics and imaginary realms that provide insight into our ambivalent relationship with technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
