The Symptoms of the Living trilogy explores the theme of the living, and its place in artists’ imaginations, at a crucial time when the erosion of biodiversity is pushing our society to move away from the “great divide” between Man and the rest of the living world. This new exhibition examines the relationship between man and machine, once mechanical or electronic and now algorithmic, against a backdrop of increasing deployment of artificial intelligence and the great porosity of the boundaries, fantasized or real, between humanity and robotics, between flesh and code.
