Digital Imaginaries Biennial

Founded in 2018 and organized by CHRONIQUES, the Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques is the premier event for digital arts and culture in the Sud region.
By exploring the visual arts, sound art, and the performing arts, the Biennale examines the presence and use of digital media and new technologies in art, engages with public spaces, and provides a platform for national and international artists from diverse backgrounds.

After attracting more than 98,000 visitors during its third edition, this year’s Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques will explore the theme of “Pleasure” and will be held on November 7, 8, and 9, 2024, in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon, and throughout the PACA region.

COLUMNS

Conceived around the contrast and diversity of a dual identity rooted in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, CHRONIQUES is today not only a renowned international arts festival but also a people-centered organization whose mission has remained unchanged for over 20 years: the search for new aesthetics and imaginaries that shed light on the ambivalence of our relationship with technology.
CHRONIQUES organizes, among other things, the Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques, as well as public events (exhibitions, talks, outreach activities) and educational programs designed to shed light on the inner workings of digital society. Finally, CHRONIQUES also serves as a platform for the creation of original works, as well as for networking and mutual support regarding the production, distribution, and recognition of hybrid and digital arts.
