Rhythm is everything. Before our very eyes, curves transform into ellipses, stars or undulating circles, like the surface of water when a pebble is thrown into it. Let’s forget the boundaries that separate fine art from folk art and immerse ourselves in a symphony of shapes, colors and sounds. This exhibition brings together paintings by Lithuanian Op Art artist Kazys Varnelis (1917-2010), traditional textiles from the 19th and 20th centuries and a sound installation by Matas Samulionis, inspired by looms.

Exhibition organized by the National Museum of Lithuania and the Vasarely Foundation, as part of the Lithuanian Season in France 2024. Curator Indrė Urbelytė. Architect Ieva Cicėnaitė. Sound engineer Roberto Becerra.
