This documentary video installation, filmed in the style of a techno-thriller, takes a critical post-Anthropocene approach by highlighting the impact of cyber-digital technologies on the environment, particularly on our water consumption.

In order to develop an approach to documentary-making that serves as a catalyst for action rather than a tool for extraction, dance workshops exploring eco-feminist issues will be organized with various audiences throughout the creative process and will continue during the presentation of this installation. Together with choreographer Simon Courchel, Sacha Rey is conducting research to develop a “low-tech” aesthetic in line with the idea of degrowth championed by the protagonists. To counter the sensationalization of violence characteristic of action films, dance will be used as a way to bear witness to the invisible and insidious forces exerted by the digital world.

Together with the performers, protagonists, and audiences, they will conduct choreographic and filmic research that offers the opportunity to address the following questions: What forms could be developed to create a documentary shot like an eco-queer-feminist action film? How can “hydrofeminism” be expressed through a vocabulary of movement? How can we invent dances designed for machine partners?
