Co-produced with GMEM—the National Center for Musical Creation.

Created by three Lebanese artists—Kinda Hassan (composer), Racha Baroud (performer), and Carine Doumit (writer and editor)— *Elegy of a Disappearance* is a performance based on a sound-driven narrative that explores the disappearance of memory, bodies, and territories in the Mediterranean region.

The work is composed of fragments of sound, visual, and textual material, drawn from field research conducted in Marseille, Cairo, and Beirut, drawing as much from each individual’s personal stories as from collective history, and which function as traces of memory that resist the erasures inflicted upon these regions.

On stage, the artists take turns and come together to use these fragments to create scenes that blend imagery, voices, movement, and electroacoustic compositions.
