“The Confessional ” is an interactive installation in which participants find themselves face-to-face with an AI that makes direct and uncompromising judgments based solely on their appearance.
As a continuation of this work, AI Ego presents the people whom the machine “likes” in strange, dreamlike landscapes generated by AI.
These two works are part of the “AI & Me” series, which uses humor to explore self-image, our discomfort with being watched by others, and the growing role of technology in the construction of identity.

Daniela Nedovescu and Octavian Mot, known collectively as “mots,” are a Romanian-German artist and filmmaker duo who have been working together for over 14 years. They write, direct, and produce works in the fields of installation art, film, web series, and digital media. Their hybrid approach combines emerging technologies, custom-designed physical environments, narrative thinking, and participatory formats.
At the heart of their work lies an interest in how society and technological systems shape perception, behavior, and social experience. By incorporating custom software, interactive design, and audiovisual media into their broader artistic language, they create projects that combine immersive storytelling, critical perspective, and cultural relevance.
Their works have been exhibited internationally and won the 2025 Lumen Prize Experiential Award. The mots art projects have also been featured in Artnet, Wired, Variety, CBS, and Designboom.
