“Copy that” is an English expression that means “message (clearly) received” in slang used in amateur radio, CB, and military communications.

The installation sets up a transmission system that allows short text messages to be sent and received between two radios, enabling a form of chat between two participants simultaneously. The original system is one-way: from the radio station to the listeners; here, the artists transform it into a means of two-way communication.

In this sense, this play invents a fictional chapter in the history of the media by creating a novel and functional text-based chat service—albeit one that is slow and has limited reach.

This work is part of the critical reflection on the history of technology that artists are accustomed to engaging in.
