Speaker Corner is a performance without actors, designed for public spaces. A text projected onto a city wall speaks out and captures the attention of an audience gathered in a square. It stares them down, tells stories, cracks jokes, spurs them to action, and creates a shared space that is both critical and joyful.
Speaker Corner is a performance that reimagines how we come together in public spaces. As a group, the audience is invited to view their surroundings in new ways. Speaker Corner captures the present moment in public space and sparks reflections, emotions, and actions to create a direct connection with those who experience it. Speaker Corner emerges from what is happening around it and transforms the space into a collective area to be shared (and defended).
Speaker Corner invites everyone to participate, freely and in their own way, in this truly spectacular moment.
Impatience Collective
The Collectif Impatience (75) places research and the relationship with the individual—the audience member—at the center of its creations.
“In light of global developments, we are taking an exploratory approach. We create forms that shift the viewer’s gaze, that transform the way a performance is experienced and the way one becomes a spectator. We are implementing a “dramaturgy of address.”
Our works and performances are conceived as interactive mediums with the audience: visual and/or participatory installations, theater without actors, audience-centered staging, and performances in which we ourselves take part…
The encounter can serve as the starting point for a performance such as Bâton which invites someone from outside the theater world to be at the center of the process. But our research on “the audience” can turn into an obsession, as in Lumen Text to the point where there are no more interpreters. The concept of “assembly” underpins the very principle of the TTension Conference. We develop performances, gallery installations, laboratories, game and discussion protocols, sound installations, and site-specific works in non-traditional venues. Our research is informed by protocols that encourage confrontation, intertwining, and hybridization.
The connection to the visual arts is emphasized. We are just as interested in the method and the creative process as we are in the final format.
The Research Project What Can the Night Do?, supported by the Ministry of Culture’s research division, brought together researchers, artists, and children to explore, in the space of the night, participatory formats tailored to children. As a result of this research, a work of the same name was created in December 2025.
The Collectif Impatience has been under contract with the DRAC Île-de-France since 2025; it regularly receives project funding for its productions from the DRAC Île-de-France, the Île-de-France region, Dicréam, and Spedidam… Its productions have been staged at venues including the Théâtre de Vanves (92), the T.U. (Nantes – 44), La Filature (Mulhouse – 68), at the Vivat in Armentières (59), at C.12 (Mantes-La-Jolie (78)), at Dello Scompiglio (Italy), at L’Échangeur (Bagnolet – 93), at Emmetrop (Bourges – 18), at the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers (93), at the Maïf Social Club (Paris), at the MacVal in Vitry (94), at Bain Public/Saint-Nazaire (44), at the Théâtre du Train Bleu/Avignon Off Festival, the Studio-Théâtre de Vitry (94), the Frac Lorraine (57), and at the Bruits de Galop (75), Dans Ta Cour (75), OTNI (75), Connexions (63), etc.
