Antiwar AI is a hacktivist project that infiltrates Russian public spaces by hacking into IP cameras equipped with speakers to broadcast an anti-war message. The project uses artificial intelligence to appropriate the language and aesthetics of propaganda, thereby turning its own logic against itself. Bars, hospitals, offices, beauty salons: everyday places are transformed into unexpected sites of protest. In a context of total control over information, a hacked camera becomes an alternative media channel—uncontrolled, ungovernable, and impossible to silence completely.
Helena Nikonole
Helena Nikonole is a new media artist, independent curator, researcher, and educator based in Berlin. Her areas of interest include artificial intelligence, hacktivism, hybrid art, and biosemiotics. Describing herself as a fluid and playful entity, she navigates between utopian scenarios of a posthuman future, militant counter-technologies, art as innovation, and a critical approach to technology—refusing to confine herself to any one of these positions. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. on language models (LLMs) and political ideologies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
